It’s so interesting to see a turtle. I was thinking this week about one that lived in our wetlands before we put in the swale. I don’t know who lives out there now. Our turtle looked almost military, with a tail more like a rat’s. It’s a completely different feel now. Doesn’t feel wild in the same way, I think because everything is getting taller and the “swamp” is turning back into a forested wetlands. I have mixed emotions. How many more growing and harvest seasons will I live to see?
