interlocked cogs of two hemispheres
pause perfectly balanced between
night and day on the precipice of seasons
the slow grinding resumes one moving
toward the dark coolness of fall
the other turning away from winter
into warm elongated days riding in
on the wings of ring-necked ducks
The image of ring-necked ducks is just so beautiful, thinking of the equinox almost as a necklace on earth. . .or something!
