July 7 - July 11 Week 16/72
laden with a flush of heart-shaped leaves
pendulous branches of an American Linden
form a perfect amphitheater for
the steady droning hum of a highway
of bees busy overhead gathering
nectar from tiny blooms that have
enveloped me in a thick, heady scent
I love the idea of the amphitheater and the highway of bees! I am celebrating the survival of my transplanted horseradish, assured that I can make all the sauce I want it will will experience root trimming as a tickle. What's the fa,sol, la plant? something that looks like that (called clearweed, a form of nettle) is spreding all over the garden. The undersides of those leaves look like the color of our paths as the stuff seems almost to bubble up in lime.
