the fabric of sound

August 23- August 27 Week 25/72

the fabric of sound

has changed from the bright, multi-colored

Aguayo cloth of summer carried on the backs

of red-winged blackbirds, orioles and tree frogs

the fabric of sound

has now become more like a lightly toned

linen-like fabric textured only by crickets

hidden in the tree canopy where

squirrels stealthily snip maple branches

sending samaras floating to the ground

the fabric of sound

is now woven silently by silk-loving arachnids

and caterpillars readying for a transformation into

delicate orbs hanging by the notes of single threads

I missed this one! We had the red-wing blackbirds and suddenly I started seeing spider webs. But I can't remember what it was that I saw hanging from the delicate thread. I know I did! I think it was a seed sac or something like that. The days are becoming hazy with incessant clearweed that is EVERYWHERE.
